Weekend Wordings: “Lonesomeness of Nights”/“City Pop Fantasy”

Every weekend, I’ll be sharing two poems a piece for weekend reading. This weekend, a poem of lonesome love and lyrics of blissful city romance.

“Lonesomeness of Nights”

I dream of you.
I yearn for you
on the
lonesomeness of nights.

I drift to sleep
in endless hues
of the Technicolor
you provide in life.

I’m in a daze;
a constant haze
with you residing
in my mind.

Is this a scheme?
An endless dream?
One I hope to never
ever wake from?

I dream of you.
I yearn for you
on the
lonesomeness of nights.

One day, this bond
will go far beyond
what we thought
we known.

Till then,
I’ll dream of you.

“City Pop Fantasy”

I’d fall in love with you under twilight;
the stars barely coming out to play.
They’ll dance above our heads there
in the night sky’s ballet.
I will seek your hand now
as we glide along the floor.
There’s no one here but us
as the moonlight is dawning.

I’ll twirl with you until sunrise.
Our dance; a continuous song.
I gaze deeply in your eyes
and I will know right from wrong.
As your press your head to my chest,
I lead us in the dark
with only the goddess moon
lighting us on our way.

I don’t know why I dream this,
but I believe this.
One day, we will see this.
Believe it, we need it.
Dancing upon the glittering starlight,
I know one day this dream will come
to fruition.

Your hand in my hand, I feel
a blissful sense of peace.
Feel the heartbeat rising
when our lips finally meet.
It’s a kiss above the rest
of the world’s most perfect kiss
up with Wesley and Buttercup.

I’m dazzled by your presence.
I’m swooning in your aura’s haze.
Your heart is so wondrous;
a marvel of the God’s framework.
It’s a pleasure to be by you,
I still do know how we came to be,
yet I know we are both happy.

I don’t know why I dream this,
but I believe this.
One day, we will see this,
believe it, we need it.
Dancing upon the glittering starlight,
I know one day this dream will come
to fruition.

You say I’m handsome and cute,
yet it took forever to hear those words
back in the context of their meaning.
I’ve been hurt and torn down
by others who said similar lines.
Yet when you say it in the
sweetest sounds Rodgers wrote
I trust you and your voice, so
don’t fret or worry!

You say I’m something special
and you prove that I am.
You see the glimmer of my aura,
a glimmer that I’m barely seeing again
rising up like the eastern sunrise
every morning on the earth.
You give me hope, you give me love,
It is so amazing.

I tell you that wonderful and marvelous.
All these words I say are true.
When I share a sweet embrace,
it’s almost like I’m dreaming
A never-ending romantic story.
This is what I have been yearning for.
Glad there’s no more waiting.

Maybe when I wake up,
this dream won’t be fantasy.
I hope it comes some day
so it won’t be fantasy.

If it doesn’t, it will be okay,
I’ll still dream the fantasy.
Maybe when I fall in love,
I’ll live the fantasy.
