I’m Sergio J. Berrueta (He/Him), a 30-year-old journalist, producer, and writer. I’m currently a local news producer in Eureka, California. I am originally from Southeast Los Angeles, specifically Bell Gardens where I honed my skills (and will make references to this day).
I worked as an editor, social media manager, and editor-in-chief at El Leñador at Humboldt State University before graduating with my Bachelor’s degree in Journalism. Prior to that, I was a writer and editor at East Los Angeles College at ELAC Campus News graduating with my Associate degree.
I’ve also contributed poetry to Humboldt’s Cultural Times Magazine. Outside of writing, I enjoy watching movies aplenty, playing video games I promise to beat (but never do), and exploring new places with my partner.
